Privacy Policy
We are Neighbo Pty Ltd (ACN 680 241 829) and we take your privacy seriously.
We don't track you. We don't know who you are, unless you choose to tell us. We despise surveillance capitalism.
What information we collect
We deliberately collect the minimum amount of information we need to make the Neighbo apps and website work. The information we collect is:
- Anonymous search queries
- Anonymous location data
- Request logs with IP address
Anonymous search queries
Neighbo stores a log of what people search for so that we can check whether Neighbo is providing useful search results, and improve our search over time. This is always anonymous; search queries are not linked to you, your IP address, or any other personal information.
Anonymous location data
If you choose to search for places "near you" then the Neighbo website or app will send your GPS location to Neighbo servers so that it can return a list of places closest to you. We do not record your location; it is immediately discarded after the search is completed.
Request logs with IP address
Neighbo stores a log of requests made to Neighbo servers from web browsers and mobile apps. These logs do not identify you personally, but they do include an IP address which may identify the computer or device you are using to access Neighbo from. We keep these logs for 30 days then delete them.
The request logs are used to identify and block malicious use of Neighbo. IP addresses that cause a security incident at Neighbo may be passed to CrowdSec located in Montrouge, France. CrowdSec may keep your IP address along with a description of the security incident for 3 months. No personal information about you is provided other than the IP address. If you believe your IP address has been incorrectly blocked by CrowdSec you can request for it to be unblocked at https://app.crowdsec.net/cti.
If you choose to email us we ask you not to email offers, advertisements, promotions, or other spam. If you agree to that we store the date and time of your agreement along with your email address, but no other information. If you send an email to us then it is stored by our email provider, which is Fastmail Pty Ltd located in Melbourne, Australia. Please don't email us any personal information that you don't want stored!
What we don't collect
Again, we don't track you and we don't know who you are. We do not ask for or store your name, address, phone number, or other personal information. Only if you choose to email us do we store your email address.
We do not track your devices, other than storing an IP address as described above. We do not use cookies, unique identifiers, device fingerprints, session tracking, or other methods of tracking you or your devices.
