Sydney Road is the centre of Brunswick in every sense of the word, running right through the middle of Brunswick with the biggest array of shops in the area. It continues north into Coburg for around 4km of continuous shopping and commercial businesses covering more products and services than you might imagine.

Sydney Road shopping is all about small independent businesses. There are a handful of major chains and supermarkets in Barkly Square, the main shopping centre at the southern end of Sydney Road, but Sydney Road is predominently a place to get away from the big brands. Interesting and indie shopping, food, music, designers, professional services and more are spread along the length of Sydney Road. There is also a major bridal precinct with a hundred businesses specialising in wedding dresses and formalwear.
