With its galleries, live music scene and public art, Brunswick is one of Melbourne's most 'creative' suburbs (alongside Fitzroy, Collingwood and Footscray). It's also become a co-working hotspot for many freelancers and start-ups.

Formerly one of Melbourne's most industrious suburbs, Brunswick has many historic bluestone cottages, brick and steel works, churches and restored Victorian and Edwardian homes dating back to the 1800s.
